Product Inspection in China

China product inspection compares selected goods with buyer-defined requirements at a production or shipment stage suited to the decision.

The scope may address workmanship, measurements, basic function, identity, labels, accessories and packing, but only where the product, references, methods and available goods make those checks meaningful.

Product inspection is broader than one final check

A China product inspection service can be planned at different order stages. Earlier inspection may help a buyer understand production condition or repeat workmanship issues while work is continuing. A later inspection may examine selected finished goods, quantities and packing before release.

The inspection criteria should come from the purchase order, current specification, approved sample, drawings, tolerances, artwork and other buyer references. Without clear criteria, observations may be limited to identity, visible condition and common comparison points rather than an objective conformity decision.

Product inspection is evidence from selected goods at a particular time. It does not continuously manage production, guarantee every unit, prove regulatory compliance or automatically include laboratory and specialised engineering tests.

Clear boundaries

What this service cannot prove

Sampling cannot prove every unit is defect-free; selection and access affect what the sample represents.

Onsite basic checks do not automatically verify safety, durability, certification, laboratory performance or legal compliance.

Product observations do not establish supplier identity, financial condition or overall factory capability.

A late inspection may reveal issues after correction has become difficult; earlier risks may require an earlier production-stage check.

Is product inspection always carried out before shipment?

No. It may be planned during production or after completion depending on the risk, available goods and buyer decision. PSI is the specific late-stage finished-goods form.

What references make product inspection useful?

Current specifications, approved samples, drawings, tolerances, artwork, order details, defect definitions and packing instructions help turn preferences into observable criteria.

Does product inspection include functional testing?

Basic onsite function may be included where safe and practical with clear instructions. Laboratory, endurance, safety and specialist testing are not automatic.

Does one AQL apply to all products?

No. Sampling plans, inspection levels and acceptance limits depend on the product, lot, buyer requirements and risk.

Can inspection guarantee the full order?

No. Findings concern selected accessible goods and the agreed scope at a specific time. Unselected units and later changes remain limitations.
